We hold the vision that every Vermont child who needs or wants a mentor has one.

The Vermont Mentoring Collaborative is a committed group of funders invested in promoting and supporting high-quality, adult-to-child mentoring programs in Vermont.  We do this by promoting best practices, establishing statewide standards, providing technical assistance, and monitoring outcomes.  The VMC resources this critical work through grantmaking, with the ultimate goal of sustainably increasing the quality and quantity of mentoring matches statewide.

Core Standards for Mentoring Programs

We ask every grantee of the Vermont Mentoring Collaborative or Vermont Mentors! to meet the Core Standards for Mentoring Programs.  Based on the national best practices and lessons learned in Vermont, we believe strongly that these basic standards for quality and safety are integral to achieving the impacts on children and youth we know are possible through mentoring.
